Scaling the Greenscreen January 21, 2015
Jonathan wore many hats for the production of the independent feature,”Blue Like Jazz,” one of which was tackling a sequence that would have been too cost-prohibitive to shoot practically, on location. The scene involved the 2 principle actors, Marshall Allman and Claire Holt, rappelling from the top of a billboard atop a building at night, preparing to deface the ad on the billboard. The filmmakers went to a green soundstage at NuMynd Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and rigged each actor to suspend from the wall. The lighting was set to naturally cast shadows across the stage wall so that that element could be used in compositing.
